Assurance & Organisational Effectiveness Manager / Rheolwr Sicrwydd ac Effeithiolrwydd Sefydliadol

The Opportunity

At Wales & West Housing Group, we are passionate about making a difference to people's lives, homes and communities. We are looking for an Assurance & Organisational Effectiveness Manager who shares that passion and wants to help us become an even better organisation for our residents, staff and communities.

This is a new and exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the organisation, bringing together insight, learning and improvement to help us focus on what matters most. Rather than simply measuring performance, you will help us understand what is working, where we can do better and how we can turn ideas into meaningful action. You will play a key role in helping us embed the WWHG Way, strengthen collaboration across teams and ensure residents' voices help shape the services we provide.

What you will be doing?

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, you will lead a diverse team covering resident insight, organisational insight, diversity and inclusion, internal audit, and executive support. Working with colleagues across the organisation, you will help create the conditions for continuous improvement by bringing together feedback, evidence, learning and experience to support better decisions and better outcomes.

Working closely with senior leaders, managers and teams to drive improvement projects, support organisational priorities and help translate ideas into practical action. Whether it is understanding what residents are telling us, helping services learn from feedback, supporting planning and improvement activity, or bringing people together around a shared goal, you will be someone who enjoys connecting people, creating momentum and turning ambition into reality.

While the role includes oversight of assurance and internal audit activity, its focus is much broader. This is about helping the organisation learn, adapt and improve, ensuring we remain connected to our residents, responsive to change and focused on delivering the best possible services.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and helping them succeed. You will be a natural collaborator, comfortable building relationships across the organisation and bringing people together to solve problems, deliver projects and improve services.

Your ability to engage others, build trust and inspire action is vital. You will be curious, proactive and able to turn complex information into meaningful conversations and practical improvements.

Most importantly, you will share our values, believe in the importance of listening to people, and be motivated by making a positive difference to residents, colleagues and communities every day.

The role can be based at any of our offices in the South (Cardiff), North (Ewloe) or West (Newcastle Emlyn) regions. We offer flexibility in choosing the most suitable base location, while still ensuring strong links with the wider team. Regular travel between offices will be required at times, but your main working location can be aligned to the area that works best for you.

What's in it for you?

  • Salary £56,607 to £65,540 per annum
  • Choice of Defined Contribution or Defined Benefit pension, both including 3x death in service life insurance cover
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 days with service, plus the ability to buy and sell up to 5 days (pro rata)
  • 9 Bank Holidays per annum, including an extra day at Christmas
  • Time off for volunteering, health screening and more
  • Opportunities to develop and grow
  • Regular feedback, training and support from your manager and team
  • Comprehensive support through a generous sick pay scheme, critical illness cover, employee assistance programme, counselling service and cash plan benefit

Are we right for you?
