About the opportunity

Due to expansion, we are very excited to be recruiting for a Development Project Officer to support our Development team in delivering our programme of new homes, in our continued mission to make a difference to the lives of our residents. Working with the wider Development team, this role will play an integral part in supporting the business and staff in Wales’ top not-for-profit organisation, as voted by our staff in the Sunday Times ‘Best Companies to Work For’ list.

What will you be doing?

Based from our Ewloe office you will be responsible for the delivery of development schemes through effective project management. At WWH we put our residents at the heart of what we do, and you will play a central role in ensuring that our projects impact positively on residents and local communities.

In return for your hard work, commitment and creativity, you will enjoy an environment focused on your continued growth and development, flexible working patterns and a great benefits package.

Who are we looking for?

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Relevant experience in a construction environment.
  • Proven experience in project managing programmes of work.
  • Knowledge of the development process in a Social Housing environment.
  • A sound understanding of the business drivers of Registered Social Landlords.
  • Understanding of Welsh Government’s development procedures (New build, DQR specification etc)

Further information about the role can be found in the attached recruitment pack.

Who are Wales & West Housing (WWH)?

We are one of the leading housing providers in Wales; providing affordable homes and services to more than 20,000 residents in 12,000 properties across Wales. We formed a group company in 2011, to include Cambria Maintenance Ltd and Castell Ventures Ltd. We employ over 400 staff at WWH and over 300 staff in the other companies within our Group, making us a major Welsh employer. As an organisation we adopt a systems thinking approach to the way we manage and deliver our services across the Group; it underpins the way in which we operate. We are also ranked the top Welsh not-for-profit organisation in the 2020 Sunday Times Best Companies list and ranked 5th in the top 100 in the whole of the UK. We are also very proud to be the first organisation in Wales to be awarded Platinum status in the Investors in People (IiP) Standard.
