Job Advert

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Finance Officer (Service Charges) to join our team and support the delivery of clear, accurate, and transparent service charge management across Wales. This role plays a vital part in supporting residents and ensuring services are funded and delivered effectively.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, contributing to safer homes and stronger communities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their finance expertise while making a positive impact on people’s lives.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated and detail‑focused finance professional who wants their work to genuinely matter. This role offers the chance to make a real difference by supporting residents and communities through accurate, fair and transparent service charges.

The successful candidate will enjoy working with financial data, systems and spreadsheets, and will bring a calm, organised approach to managing deadlines and priorities. Just as important is a customer‑focused mindset and the ability to explain financial information clearly and confidently to both colleagues and residents.

A strong team player, the post holder will take pride in accuracy, show curiosity when things don’t look right, and be willing to investigate, question and improve processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing service charge experience, or for a finance professional keen to develop their knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment.

What will you be doing?

This role plays an important part in ensuring service charges are accurate, transparent and fair for residents. The work supports the delivery of well‑managed homes and helps residents understand the services they receive.

The post holder will support the annual production of service charges for rented, homeowner and Right to Buy properties, working to strict deadlines and with a strong focus on accuracy. This includes maintaining and reconciling information across the accounting system, service charge module and housing systems, as well as carrying out variance analysis and investigating discrepancies.

The role also involves preparing and maintaining accruals and prepayments for site expenditure, monitoring budgets, and supporting the allocation of costs such as staff time and utilities. Regular review of financial information helps identify trends, resolve issues and ensure value for money.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the post holder will respond to service charge queries from residents and staff, providing clear, understandable financial information. Through collaboration and a proactive approach, the role contributes to improving understanding of service charges and delivering a high‑quality, resident‑focused service.

What’s in it for you?

In return for your hard work, commitment and innovation, you will enjoy an environment focused on more than just competitive pay. You’ll enjoy:

  • Salary £33,215 - £36,788 per annum.
  • Choice of Defined Contribution or Defined Benefit pension, both including 3x death in service life insurance cover.
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 days with service the ability to buy and sell up to 5 days (pro rata), as well as, time off for volunteering, health screening and more.
  • 9 Bank Holidays per annum, including an extra day at Christmas!
  • Opportunities to develop and grow,
  • Regular feedback, training and support from your manager and team,
  • Comprehensive support in case of sickness with a generous sick pay scheme, critical illness cover and support through an employee assistance and counselling service and a cash plan benefit.
