The Opportunity

We are looking for a Head of Communications & Corporate Support to lead a portfolio of services that help shape how staff and residents experience Wales & West Housing Group.

This is an exciting new leadership role with responsibility for communications, corporate engagement, Welsh language, community assistance and corporate support services. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, you will play a key role in ensuring people feel informed, connected and engaged with our purpose, priorities and services, while helping to strengthen organisational culture and support delivery of the WWHG Way.

What you will be doing

You will lead how we communicate and engage with colleagues, residents, Board members and stakeholders. You will work with our Communications & Corporate Engagement Team to ensure we support leaders to communicate effectively and ensure people have meaningful opportunities to contribute to organisational priorities and improvement activity.

You will also provide leadership for Welsh language services, community assistance, and corporate support services, ensuring these areas are responsive, customer-focused and make a positive contribution to the organisation and the communities we serve. Working across organisational boundaries, you will build strong relationships, identify opportunities for improvement and use feedback and performance information to help services continually evolve and improve.

Who are we looking for?

As a member of the Corporate Services leadership team, you will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, create a culture of collaboration and service excellence, and ensure resources are focused on delivering value and positive outcomes. Through your leadership, you will help colleagues thrive, strengthen engagement across the organisation and maximise WWHG's impact in our communities.

We are looking for a strategic and inspiring leader with experience of communications, engagement, customer-focused or support services. You will be an excellent relationship builder, comfortable working with senior leaders and able to bring people together around a shared purpose. Most importantly, you will be passionate about making a difference to people's lives, homes and communities.

The role can be based at any of our offices in the South (Cardiff), North (Ewloe) or West (Newcastle Emlyn) regions. We offer flexibility in choosing the most suitable base location, while still ensuring strong links with the wider Communications and Corporate Services Team. Regular travel between offices will be required at times, but your main working location can be aligned to the area that works best for you.

What’s in it for you?

  • Salary £67,996 - £76,932 per annum.
  • Choice of Defined Contribution or Defined Benefit pension, both including 3x death in service life insurance cover.
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 days with service the ability to buy and sell up to 5 days (pro rata), as well as, time off for volunteering, health screening and more.
  • 9 Bank Holidays per annum, including an extra day at Christmas!
  • Opportunities to develop and grow,
  • Regular feedback, training and support from your manager and team,
