Internal Auditor/Archwilydd Mewnol
This an exciting opportunity for an outstanding experienced auditor to join the Wales & West Housing Group to work alongside our existing Internal Audit Manager.
This newly created post will enable you to gain exposure to all aspects of the Group’s business providing independent and objective assurance over the adequacy and effectiveness of our internal control and risk management processes.
Wales & West Housing is currently undergoing an ambitious programme of growth and technological changes to deliver business improvements which means that it is an excellent time to be joining us, and further develop your audit career. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the senior management team, providing support and advice over internal controls matters and feed into our newly created business assurance frameworks. You will support the Internal Audit Manager in developing and then delivering work on the risk based internal audit plan, planning and carrying out individual assignments from start to finish, drafting audit reports and agreeing actions with management. You will deputise for the Internal Audit Manager when required.
The role will be based in our Cardiff office with some opportunities for agile working.
Who are we looking for?
You will have a background in audit (internal or external) with the ability to plan and carry out audits with minimal supervision. We are seeking someone with genuine passion and pride in their work, who has good judgement and can gain the respect of colleagues at all levels. You will have an analytical mind, be a quick learner, ICT literate with advanced Excel skills, and you will be an excellent communicator with the ability to write reports of high standard for management and the Audit & Risk Committee. You will have an eye for detail but at the same time be able to see the bigger picture.
Ideally you will be a qualified Chartered Internal Auditor or CCAB qualified Accountant and member of a relevant professional body with a good understanding of professional standards and ethics. The advertised pay scale reflects this. We are however willing to be flexible for the right person and we may be able to consider applications from people who do not fully meet the criteria for the post.
